Lisa Im, Chief Executive Officer

Lisa Im is the Chief Executive Officer of Performant Financial Corporation, a leading provider of financial and debt management solutions. Ms. Im has focused the company on expanding its trusted advisory services, business process management, and technology solutions to public and private sector customers across the healthcare, education, and collections industries. Ms. Im has led the company and its passionate, dedicated employees through years of robust growth and innovation. Under her guidance, Performant has built strategic partnerships with our clients, who have relied on us to manage over $200 billion in assets to deliver extraordinary returns.

Since joining Performant, Ms. Im has been instrumental in developing the framework necessary for the company to utilize the Total Performant Capabilities method. TPC, a tailored solutions portfolio approach, will enable the company to capitalize on emerging opportunities across a broad range on industries while upholding the core values.

Ms. Im, a 20-year veteran in corporate growth and operational strategies, has been in leadership ranks at some of the largest global consumer product goods companies, during which time she helped grow market share, volume, and diversity. During her tenures at Kraft and BestFoods, Im served in both executive level operational and financial leadership capacities throughout the United States.

Ms. Im received her MBA in finance from California State University, Hayward, and her BA in marketing from Loma Linda University.

Jon Shaver, President of VFI, Chairman of Board of Directors

Dr. Jon Shaver is the President of VFI and Chairman of Board of Directors of Performant. Dr. Shaver is involved in corporate affairs, including a leadership role in the company’s government engagement, mergers and acquisition strategy, and legal counsel. Dr. Shaver possesses great depth in the education and government markets, and has actively participated in milestone initiatives both prior to joining Performant, and within Performant strategic efforts. Dr. Shaver brings extensive leadership experience in both large student loan guarantors, student aid commissions, and legislative affairs.

Dr. Shaver previously served as President and CEO of EdFund where he helped to shape the infrastructure of educational support in California, and spearheaded key legislation directed at improving its educational platforms. He has also served as Executive Director and CEO for the California Student Aid Commission, and held several executive leadership roles within California State University.

Dr. Shaver received his Ed.D. in organization and administrative studies from the University of California, Los Angeles. He also holds an MBA in marketing from Pepperdine University, an MS in higher education administration, and a BA in history from SUNY at Brockport.

Hal Leach, President of DCS

Hal Leach is the President of DCS and is a recognized operations strategy leader within the debt collection industry. He has the unique license to leverage synergies and commonality company-wide, in efforts to drive both logistics and operational excellence to ensure Total Performant Capabilities are executed.

During his tenure, Mr. Leach led the development and implementation of audit and recovery technology. His full circle process analysis and improvement plans in the call center space has allowed the company to recover over $4 billion for customers in the past 20 years, and made it number one in its industry. He was instrumental in the company successfully achieving ISO 9002 certification.

As a recognized government partner, his team continues their efforts to help public agencies improve audit and recovery efficiencies. Leach’s expertise in high regulatory and compliance environments has cultivated key roles with clients and Congress and on matters related to government debt management. He has served as an advisor to the Internal Revenue Service regarding collection contract services and offered counsel on industry best practices and policies.

Jayne Pendergast, V.P. and Chief Information Officer

Jayne Pendergast oversees management of the IT infrastructure across all functional areas of the business, including application development, data management, data center operations, information security, and telecommunication networks.

An accomplished professional with more than 25 years of technology experience, Ms. Pendergast will be responsible for developing and implementing the critical information systems infrastructure necessary to ensure Performant meets its strategic business objectives.

Before joining Performant, Ms. Pendergast spent four years as the Vice President of Information Technology/Chief Information Officer for Appleseed's, a privately held women's clothing retailer headquartered in Massachusetts. As a member of the executive management team and the company's first CIO, Ms. Pendergast created Appleseed's overall IT infrastructure and led numerous technology initiatives.

Prior to joining Appleseed's, Ms. Pendergast served as corporate director of information systems at Cornerstone Brands e-Commerce Services, a direct marketing retailer, where she established a centralized program office to manage technology priorities across six individual companies, resulting in significant annual cost savings.

Ms. Pendergast received her MBA from Western New England College and a BS in Business Administration from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

Bruce Calvin, V.P. of H.R and Administration

Bruce Calvin is the Vice President of Human Resources and Administration. Mr. Calvin is responsible for all Performant’s human resources activities, including workforce development and organizational effectiveness, benefits and compensation, staffing, and HR processes and information management.

Mr. Calvin is instrumental in building a high-commitment and performance based culture via a dedicated team of HR professionals who focus on creating a collaborative environment with emphasis on total business capabilities. He is personally engaged in the implementation of best practices in regards to competitive programs, policies, actions and audits with respect to executive/management/employee compensation, motivation programs and employee benefits and services. Mr. Calvin also ensures that employee relations are compliant with employment statues and labor laws.

Mr. Calvin joined Performant after extensive executive roles with ESS Technology, Inc. and NEC Electronics. While at ESS Technology, he was a member of senior executive committee responsible for re-engineering all financial, legal, IT & HR policies and procedures. He was also accountable as the Compliance Officer creating polices and procedures that resulted in zero post dating issues.

Mr. Calvin received a Juris Doctorate from John F. Kennedy School of Law and a BS in business administration/ accounting from Troy University, Troy, Alabama.

Hakan Orvell, V.P. and Chief Financial Officer

Hakan Orvell leads Performant's finance and accounting teams and holds management responsibility for executing the financial and internal control aspects of our strategic and tactical goals, and for supplying related support to our operations. Mr. Orvell has demonstrated success in developing world-class internal-reporting processes and controls and in building strong finance and accounting capabilities which are critical skill sets in support of Performant's overall growth strategy.

Prior to joining Performant, Mr. Orvell served as Chief Financial Officer for Neopost, Inc., a position held since 2002. He served eight years in increasingly responsible financial positions with Corporate Express, Inc. culminating in his promotion to Vice President, Controller of the Northern California division where we saw the company through a $215 million dollar revenue expansion.

Mr. Orvell earned his MBA in finance from the University of Stockholm. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts.

Investors

William C. Kessinger - Managing Partner

William Kessinger, Managing Partner, joined Parthenon Capital in October 2001 to open Parthenon Capital's office in San Francisco, California. As Managing Partner with an extensive background in strategic capital partnerships, Mr. Kessinger guided Parthenon Capital's current investment in Performant Financial Corporation. His successful investment history, particularly in business services, financial services and transaction processing, brings valuable experience and industry knowledge to Parthenon Capital. Mr. Kessinger is a member of Parthenon Capital's Executive and Investment Committees.

Brian P. Golson - Partner

Brian Golson joined Parthenon Capital in 2002 as a Principal and was recently promoted to Partner. Mr. Golson brings to Parthenon over ten years of private equity and corporate finance experience. He is an active investor in industries including financial services, business services and technology. Mr. Golson has served on the Board of Directors of Rackable Systems Inc., and for Arrow Financial Services, a former investment of Parthenon Capital. He currently has an active role in the strategic partnership with Performant Financial Corporation.

Jeffrey Stein - Principal

Jeffrey Stein is an Executive in Residence with Parthenon Capital. As a member of Parthenon's operating team, Mr. Stein is focused on finance and accounting due diligence and other transaction efforts for new investment opportunities. With his tenure in corporate recovery services and a Certified Public Accountant, he also supports operating companies post-transaction and has served as interim CFO of several of Parthenon portfolio companies.
