A Performant Company

Performance

DCS delivers—beyond expectations.

For ED (the U.S. Department of Education) 2000 contract, we have outperformed our nearest competitor by more than 110% in netback dollars, and all competitors from 113% to 1,300%, over a four year period. Now in its fifth successive contract with ED, DCS had, by the end of 2004, collected between 50% and 1127% more than all competitors.

DCS’s performance on behalf of state taxing authorities is equally impressive. For Tax (Virginia Department of Taxation), we have ranked as the number one producer in overall netback dollars for an amazing 106 consecutive months. On behalf of the DOR (Wisconsin Department of Revenue), we have recovered from 114 to 138% more of the dollars placed for collection than our competitors. For second placements by the DOR, DCS has recovered 244% to 528% more than all other contractors.

These numbers are representative magnitudes of performance, delivered consistently by DCS’s unique combination of people, state of the art technology, and experience.

Performance Beyond Expectations

Following are three examples from among many that graphically demonstrate the superior performance of DCS.

During the 2000 contract term DCS handled $7.8 billion dollars placed for collection by the U.S. Department of Education—over $1.4 billion more than our nearest competitor. Our recovery rate of 9.4% for ED is a decisive 73% better than the next best performer.

Through June of 2005, DCS had outperformed the alternative contractor by 230%. DCS has also collaborated closely with Great Lakes to increase the amount and the efficiency of dollars recouped through loan rehabilitation, and to develop an innovative “balance-sensitive” rehabilitation program for borrowers owing more than $10,000.

From September 1996 through the summer of 2005, DCS had outdistanced every competitive collections firm working on behalf of the TAX—by a wide margin.

“The Department of Taxes began our first contract with your company in 1996 when DCS was selected to provide collection services for our oldest accounts that we considered the worst of the worst. To our surprise, DCS was able to collect a significant number of these accounts that we believed were ready for write-off.”

—Judith E. Lambert, Supervisor of Tax Collections, Vermont Department of Taxes
